Confidence in Christ

From 2/28/2010

Phillipians 4:6-7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

We are so grateful for the confidence that we have in You! You have assured us that You will never leave nor forsake us, that all things work together for our good who are called according to Your purpose, that no one is able to pluck us out of Your hand, and that Your peace will guide our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. What other ground for confidence could we ever hope for? Where else could we find any sort of security remotely so sure? To whom else could we possibly look for such strong defense? You are the One who rescues and saves, and who satisfies our mouth with good things.

You are our Judge and our Lawgiver, our King and Savior. We join with the angels in saying, “Amen! Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honor, and power, and might, be unto our God forever and ever!”

Prepare our hearts now to feed on truth from Your Word, even as we lift our collective voices in the prayer that Jesus taught His disciples, saying…
